Therapy for adults who feel stuck

A Chicago based psychologist serving all of Illinois

Welcome

A woman with curly red hair, glasses, and a black shirt stands smiling with her arms crossed in front of a brick wall.

Hi, I’m Kristin Conlon, PsyD, a licensed clinical psychologist. I work with adults who want to understand themselves more clearly and make sense of patterns that feel confusing, frustrating, or difficult to change.

My style is down-to-earth, curious, and collaborative, and I sometimes use gentle humor when the moment feels right.

When “I’m fine” Isn’t True

Many of the adults I work with are doing well in several areas of their lives. They’re building careers, maintaining relationships, and handling their responsibilities. But something isn’t fully working and they feel stuck, stagnant, or a lack of progress.

This often shows up as:

  1. Too much of what you don’t want

    • Resentment, loneliness, self-sabotaging, overthinking, avoiding, self-comparing, etc.

  2. Too little of what you do want

    • Balance, a better relationship with yourself, more fulfilling relationships with others, happiness, energy, spontaneity, etc.

You might recognize thoughts like these:

A beige note paper taped with yellow tape at two corners, displaying the quote: "I want to trust myself more, but I keep second-guessing everything."
A brown sticky note attached with pink tape, with black handwritten text that reads: "I want to connect with people, but I freeze or pull away when someone gets too close."
A torn brown paper with the handwritten message, "Part of me wants support, but I feel like a burden."
A paper note pinned with a black pushpin, containing a quote: "I keep finding myself in the same kinds of situations and it's exhausting."
A beige sticky note with a message that says, "Even with people I care about, I still feel alone, like something's missing," taped with a piece of tape at the top.

It’s often easier to recognize where you feel stuck but not necessarily why it keeps happening or how to change it.

Therapy at Unstuck Psychological Services can help you get to the root of these patterns so we can begin to loosen what’s keeping you stuck and help you move toward the life you want.

If this sounds like you, I’d love to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to get to know you better and see how I can help.
